Brigadoon was the name of my grandfathers homestead, located in the North Shuswap, BC. He taught me more in the two weeks I visited him each year, than I would learn in an entire year of public school. He was a great man. I am now carrying on the Brigadoon name in both my homestead, and my wood working company. It is my hopes that the ways of Brigadoon will outlive me as well.
R.I.P. Johnny. I'll never forget you
Live edge rustic wooden wares made from lumber that was harvested and processed myself. Everything I make is made from timbers I harvest from my property as I steward my land, clear dead trees, and windfall. Therefore no trees are ever cut down for the exclusive purpose of product manufacturing.
I believe in sustainable living, waste reduction and maximizing of resources at hand. I work alone and everything I do is by hand, using hand tools. All slabs were milled with a ms290 chainsaw, freehand using only a chalkline as a guide. All logs peeled by hand, with drawshave.
